August (New Month, New School Year)

Good morning darlings,

I have had zero and I mean ZERO time to write and film videos. This is not how I planned for this summer to go. We have had one busy summer from traveling to Hawaii, to moving, to going to Rockport, to getting ready for the new school year. Luckily I still have about 2 weeks left before I hit the ground running, so I plan (really I do) to establish a set blogging/ filming schedule.

Anyways, that's my plan...I actually have some exciting news coming very soon. No, it has nothing to do with a future prince/princess. I absolutely cannot wait to share it (when the time comes). Let me apologize for my scattered brain because this post is going to be all over the place.

Today I wanted to take the time and post about kindness. I just posted this quote on my Instagram: "Do all things with kindness." This quote is something I live by on a daily bases. We tend to lose sight of this important word especially when someone cuts us off in traffic or when someone does us wrong. Our natural instinct is to do what they did to us, to then. Is that fair? Is that right? Do you know why they did what they did? Maybe they had a bad day? Maybe they were rushing to the hospital? Whatever their case may be, we should show others what kindness looks like. Set an example. I know I'm not perfect by any means, I have my flaws. Sometimes I become impatient and forget where I last placed my kindness. For example, I became extremely impatient at a clothing store and took matters into my own hands. I lost sight of how I should've let the young lady do her job (her way). Instead I went and looked for a particular merchandise myself  so, people would no longer have to wait for me to pay out. There are no excuses for my actions, I should've apologized and explained that I was in a bit of a hurry. I also had to remind myself that I was not in my hometown, I was on vacation. The main reason for this story/example is I did not display kindness.

I feel this world would be a much better place if we displayed some sort of kindness. Let's be real for one second, we all know that this world can be a cruel place to live in, but if we can spread kindness...maybe just maybe we can make this world a better place. So, go on and spread kindness...maybe I can make this The Kindness Project. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts on my Instagram picture...

Have a "kind" & beautiful day,

New & Improved

Hello Gorgeous,

Well as you noticed I changed my name (yet again)...and I added some features as well ---->
I am still working on improving my blog site and my channel, so over the next couple of days there will be some changes here and there. I basically had an epiphany the other night and decided to revamp my blog & channel. I was up late (10:00pm) the other night and was thinking how could I empower other women... I just want to create a huge support system for other girls, young ladies, women, whomever!! This month I took part in the Stretch Project by Cassey Ho (Blogilates) and we had to create (or use our) Instagram to post our stretches of the day. Well it quickly became a little support group for myself and encouraged me to stay on track. I couldn't believe the changes my body and mind were going through, still going through.

Anyways, this led me to the current changes of what my blog and channel are now geared towards. I will continue to do tutorials, product reviews, fashion, but I will now be adding workouts, motivation, and general lifestyle situations. I basically want to help others create a healthy and humble lifestyle (hence where my blog name came from " A Humble Living"). I want to help others like myself who never felt confident, was picked on (because either they were too short, tall, skinny, fat, clumsy, etc.), or have been through a rough patch (hey it happens to the best of us). I want to be here for you, yes you!

Follow me as I take you on this journey of empowerment and adventure...hey who knows where this will lead us. That's the beauty of life my dear!

Until next time,
A Humble Life

Oh Dear....

Oh Dear, Oh my....

It's been some time since I posted on my blog....that is totally my fault for not keeping up. I'm trying to remind myself by using my planner. I have actually been ridiculously busy with work and family since the week after Spring Break. Between getting students prepared for the STAAR, Easter, family emergency, Fiesta and now wrapping up the end of the school year. The kids have only 5 more days left of school, but I have 6...then it's HELLO SUMMER!!!!

I absolutely cannot wait to get back to filming and posting on my blog. I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do, it's a matter of actually getting to do them. I recently filmed a makeup tutorial and unfortunately when it came to the final product the music kept skipping in certain parts of the video. I tried taking out the clips, changing the music, and restarting iMovie...nothing. So, needless to say that video will not be going up. However, I am considering filming a Vlog....I tried it out this past weekend and I actually enjoyed filming what I do during my day. So, this weekend I am going to film a "vlog", post it to my channel and see how it goes. :)

Well lovelies it is getting late and I have work in the AM. I actually have a blog post that I will try to get up tomorrow (it's in my planner-today was not planned)...so until next time-I will write to ya'll later!

P.S.
This was an "inspiration" blog. Today one of my gorgeous friends inspired me. I have actually been in a funk lately and seeing her today reminded me how much I love fashion and beauty.
Thank you Gorgeous Friend!!!

10 Minute Make-up Look/ Where have I've been?

Hello lovlies,

It has been quite sometime since I last posted. I apologize! I've literally have had zero time to write a blog or film a video. I am on Spring Break, so you know what that means?!?! I have a tiny bit of time to sit down and post. FINALLY! There are so many things I have not been able to do in such a LONG time. For instance cook, clean, go for a run, workout, etc. That all changed today...I managed to film, go grocery shopping, clean, do laundry, cook, go for a run, post a blog & book a hotel for our weekend festivities (which I plan to blog). But, I don't want to sit here and bore you with what has kept me so busy because I know you want to know more about this "10 Minute Make-up" deal.

So, I filmed a tutorial for your "everyday" make-up look. This look should only take you 5 to 10 minutes, but if you are like me (lashes), you tend to spend a little extra time on other parts of your face. That's okay though, just keep an eye on the time if you're in a hurry!

I basically created this look with every busy/ on-the-go women and girl in mind. If you are a student, stay-at-home mom or you work, this look is designed for you with little to no effort. Literally. This look is so easy to achieve.
Ya'll know I am a teacher, so that means I'm up way before the sun comes up...that means 5:30 (okay lets be real 5:50). I need to be out the door in less than 45 min to an hour. Now, I need to eat breakfast and let Wedo out...so, typically I am in a rush. I realized I was spending way too much time getting ready, so I decided to cut the time down...WAY down. I wanted to still look fresh and feminine for work...that's when I decided to keep my make-up minimal. If you are looking for a new "quick & easy" make-up look, please take a look at my NEW video on youtube: http://youtu.be/fYq1pUZweOY
Here are all the products I used to achieve my effortless look:

Face:
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (perfect for concealing dark circles)
L'oreal True Match Super- Blendable powder (n4- Buff Beige)
Model Co Blush Cheek Powder (Cosmopolitan 01)
Becca Highlighter (Rose Gold)

Brows:
Anastasia Brow Wiz (Medium Brown)
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel
(Alternative: Maybelline Brow Drama- Deep Brown)

Eyes:
Still Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner (Intense Black)--Perfect for beginners
Maybelline Lash Sensational
Urban Decay Perversion
Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Lips:
Too Faced La Creme (Naughty Nude)

That is all I have for now, until next time...Sweet dreams & make tomorrow an amazing day!!!

Review: Urban Decay Naked On The Run

Hello lovlies,

I hope everyone had a wonderful week! If this was your 1st week back to work or school...I felt your pain. It was tough for me to get out of bed, but once I got the day started I was able to get back into the "work mode" rhythm. I don't know about you, but I am exhausted...thank goodness for the weekend!!!

Today, I wanted to do a little review on the Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette. Now, this palette is limited edition and I will let you know if it is worth buying.

I bought this palette about 3 weeks ago and I have yet to use it...WHAT?!?!  I know...well I did use it once, but it was solely for reviewing purposes.  This palette retails for $54 and I bought mine at Ulta. You can find them at Sephora or on the Urban Decay website. The palette contains 6 eyeshadows, a bronzer, a blush, a lipgloss, a eyeliner, and a mascara.
Bottom of wrist (left-right): Resit, Fix, Dive
Top of wrist (left-right): Dare, Stun, 50/50
Top of hand: Blush (no name), Bronzer (no, name)
Lipgloss (bottom of hand): Sesso
Eyeliner: Stag

So, basically all the shadows, blush, bronzer, lipgloss and eyeliner are all NEW and the mascara is their Perversion Mascara (which has been on the market for some time). The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented. The photo on the right shows 1 swipe! I absolutely love the formulation of these shadows. However, I do feel like some of the shades are similar to the Naked 3 palette, but never the less I still love them. The shade 50/50 is a beautiful highlighter shade. It is actually my favorite shade out of the 6 shadows.

As for the bronzer...the formulation was amazing (no streaking here), but since I am a darker skin tone it was quite difficult for it to show on my face. Bummer. Although I loved the bronzer, I  can't say the same for my face. I had an allergic reaction to the product, which caused me to have tiny (itchy) bumps in the area where I contour (they went away in 2 days). Awesome. :/ So...I can never use the bronzer in this palette. Ugh! Now just because I had an allergic reaction doesn't mean you will. My skin is highly sensitive so, I have to watch what I put on my face.

The blush was very pigmented...so becareful when applying. A little goes a loooonnnnggg way! Seriously, it's a hot pink blush last thing you need is to look like a...clown.

The eyeliner was creamy and easy to blend. The staying power lasted all day. I just love blackish-brown eyeliners so, this is definitely one of my favorites!

I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses, just because I don't like the way they feel on my lips. Not to mention I can't stand it when my hair gets all up in my lips when the wind blows. Grrr! I do have to say this lipgloss didn't feel sticky, it actually felt pretty creamy. Now, Sesso is definitely not pigmented on the lips. It's more of a sheer mauvy-pink, so it gives the lips a tint. This lipgloss would be perfect over a nude lip or a pink-nude lip.

Oh mascara!!! The light of my life! Seriously though. All I have to say is I LOVE the Perversion Mascara! My lashes look full and they curl...but it doesn't last very long. Oh well...I still love it though! I just have long, flat, heavy lashes, so I have trouble finding a mascara I truly love.

My thought:
Ehh...if you come across this palette I suggest picking it up, but to me it's not a palette you HAVE to have. Like I said you can find similar shadows in the Naked 3. I wouldn't see myself traveling with this, just because I would only use the shadows and eyeliner (that's just me). Although, the packaging itself is great for traveling. It does come with a HUGE mirror, so that's a plus. Really, if you are in to having "limited edition" products then snatch one up before they disappear.

Alright lovelies, that is all I have for tonight until next time....Have a wonderful night & stay warm!

Youtube

Hello my dears,

I just wanted to let you know I FINALLY have my Youtube channel up and running. My husband bought me my 1st camera for Christmas (love him to pieces). I only have 2 tutorials on there, but it's a start. I plan on filming more tutorials & talk videos, but school will be back in session on Monday and I will be a bit busy with getting everything ready. Plus testing will be in a few months & dear lord help us all!!!  I will however try my best to film on the weekends, so I am apologizing now if I am not consistent with posting a video. Once April/ May come around I think everything will be good to go w/ a set schedule (I know that's forever away, but hang in there)! I will be posting more on here, but I do promise when I find the time to film I WILL make a video (my husband will make me find the time)--he has been supporting me this whole time to fulfill my dream!

Here is the link to my channel:

Again I do apologize & please forgive me!!! <3

That is all I have for now...

Happy Holidays!

Hello darlings!

I just wanted to take the time and wish each and everyone of y'all a Happy Holidays! I know I haven't been on much lately, but life just keeps getting in the way...not to mention I am on a 2 week break at the moment and I have just been taking some "me" time (not gonna lie). In between my "me" time I'm cooking, cleaning, wrapping up gifts and doing some little shopping for next year's tree. By the way look at what I purchased from Hobby Lobby this morning (left)...can you believe I saved $78!!!! Christmas decor was 66% off and wrapping was 50%. Can you tell what next year's theme is going to be? Im' so excited!!!

****Ramble ALERT**** Growing up I loved the holidays. My Dad, Tia and grandpa  would take me to get a real tree every year (it was seriously a family event). They would hang up
We went with a red & gold theme this year.
lights and decorate the tree with me, but...it wasn't until I was in the 6th grade that the holidays didn't have much of a meaning to me (I will go into detail some other day...just not today)...For the longest time I had so much trouble getting into the holidays, until I met my husband and his family. My gosh they are BIG and I mean BIG on all major holidays. My husband especially loves Christmas. If he could he would play Christmas music all year round...wait...he does that sometimes (haha). He changed my "grinchy" ways and now I am just as crazy about Christmas time as he is! I'm not sure if anyone else has gone through a "phase" like this or is going through this (I hate calling it a phase...because it's not a phase it's much more), but I just want to let you know there is hope and light...just be patient. :) **The reason I brought this up is I know the holidays can be tough on some people for whatever their reason may be...and I just wanted to let them or you know that they or you are not alone...you never are. :)

So, just a little spoiler alert...I purchased the Urban Decay: Naked On the Run limited edition (:/) pallet. I plan on doing a full review on it soon and let you know what I think. I pinky-promise I have not opened it up or tried anything....I've been waiting.

Oh, 2 more thing before I go for the moment...my sister-in-law has also joined the blogging world. Please feel free to check out her blog: lovesarahann.blogspot.com
Seriously, I'm so excited she has decided to join. She is random like myself and...I'm just excited!
Last thing, please feel free to check out my Instagram: beautylifebyinez
I post looks, products and just random stuff. I just ask that you please be positive.  Seriously, I wish ya'll could see my hand gestures and facial expressions as I am writing this. Alright, I am done for now...until next time...
Happy Holiday's from the Borrego's
